Course Expectations

EdLine and Google Drive

This year we will use both Edline and Google Drive for posting and submitting assignments. Students are automatically enrolled in the EdLine site for this class and automatically assigned an email address for Google Drive.

Excused Absences

It is your responsibility to be aware of assignments and to complete in-class work even if you are not in class.  Unless you are out ill for the entire day, your work is expected on the day it is due, regardless of whether or not you were dismissed from my class.  Please refer to the student handbook for the official absence policy.

Late Work and Extensions

You will lose at least 10 points for each day an assignment is late.  No late work will be accepted after one week of the due date.  If you need an extension, you must ask for it in writing before the assignment is due; I will determine whether to approve the extension as quickly as possible.  No one will be granted more than two extensions this year.

Grading

Please note: I DO NOT USE THE POINTS SYSTEM.  I use percentages.  Each assignment falls under a specific weighted category.  

Quarter grades are comprised of the following:

• Graded homework: 5%

• Participation/Attendance: 5%

• Reading Quizzes: 5%

• Journal: 10%

• Quizzes: 20%

• Exams: 25%

• Essays: 30%
